Lazy Sunday afternoon... Not really...
It's a wonderful quiet Sunday afternoon. The sun shines brightly, and I'm sitting in my garden enjoying my coffee. Suddenly, a gigantic blast disturbes the peace. It's my neighbor trying to blow fallen leaves from his garden.

We writers are patient creatures, but after half an hour of constant horrible noises I go tell him that I really have my fill.

"Sorry," he says, "but I have to finish this today."

"It's Sunday. A week counts seven days. Can we enjoy one day of quiet, please?"

But one silent day is too much to ask the neighbor, and smiling wickedly the jerk goes on with the noisy job.

Good grief. I wish I could do magic.

I'd send him to the moon, and never allow him to return!

Mugs...
My loyal fans know there are lots of fabulous contests on my web site. This period you can grab your chance to win a sizzling "A Mysterious Knight" Coffee mug.

Mid-September I ordered several mugs for the happy event.
The Photo Service Web site promised to have them ready in a week, but I waited and waited and waited...
No mugs.

We authors are used to waiting. We wait months for our editors and agents to read our proposals, after sending in the manuscript we wait in patience till the contract falls on the door mat, and then we wait again for the novel to be published...
Really, we authors are the most patient creatures in the world.
So, I kept on waiting.

And then, four weeks after ordering I got THE message: Mugs ready!

I immediately rushed to the Mall, only to find out they didn't arrive yet.
They didn't arrive on the next day either.

After two weeks of running to the Mall in vain, this morning the phone rang.
"We're so sorry, your mugs are reported missing in the mail. You had best order them again."

AAARG!!!

Daily Pet Peeves
"Oh, you're a writer?" the woman in the supermarket says. "A Romance writer?"
She grimaces, as if she has just tasted something very nasty.
"Yes, I'm a Romance author. You don't like men?"
"Of course I like men." I can hear the indignance in her voice. "But a Romance novel... Everyone can pen that kind of crap."
"It's not as easy as it looks, Ma'am."
She smiles at me. A knowing smile. "One day, I'll write a Romance novel myself," she says.
"Of course, you will. Good luck with it."
I watch her walk off with her shopping cart. It's clear we'll never hear from her again.
A real writer doesn't talk about writing this way. That's like saying: "I'll start breathing next week."
We authors glue our butt to a chair, and write!
